Rumor Alert: Bacon and Halverstadt to run for OH-12 Congressional seat

State Senator Kevin Bacon (R-Village of Minvera Park) and realtor Jon Halverstadt are rumored to announce their candidacy for the open OH-12 Congressional district. The seat is being vacated by Congressman Pat Tiberi at the first of the year.
Senator Bacon is serving his second term representing Senate District 3. Prior to joining the Senate, he served two terms in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents a portion of Franklin County.
In addition to his work at the Statehouse, Senator Bacon is a practicing attorney in Central Ohio.
Conservative Jon Halverstadt is also rumored to be announcing. He was born in Salem, Ohio, is a 2006 graduate of Bowling Green State University, and received his JD/MBA from The Ohio State University in December 2015.
Prior and during graduate school he was an Army Reserve officer with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
He lives in Worthington, OH.
These candidates will join Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O'Brien who announced her intentions to run earlier. Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) is also making the rounds meeting with donors discussing a possible run.
