3rd Rail Survey: OH-12 Balderson (R) vs. O'Connor (D)

Earlier this year Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH12) resigned from office to take a new position as Executive Director for the Ohio Business Round Table. Since that time citizens of Ohio's 12th Congressional District have gone without representation.

The May primary proved bloody for the Republicans with 9 candidates vying for the opportunity to serve.  State Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) squeaked out a win by less than 1% over Conservative Liberty Township Trustee Melanie Leneghan.

On August 7th voters will determine who will represent them in Congress until the final votes are cast on November 6th.

Oddly, a candidate could win in August and lose in November.  Polls show Danny O'Connor in striking distance in the stalwart Republican district once held by Governor John Kasich.  Political eyes of the Nation’s powerful are focused on the results of the August election as they may suggest a sea change in Ohio's politics.

3rd Rail is asking our readers who you believe will win the August 7th OH-12th congressional election Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) or Franklin County Recorder Danny O'Connor (D)?

The results of the survey will be published the morning of Tuesday August 7th.
